Summer Children’s Activities
“Thrilling Thursday’s” Dates: (June 19, July 31 & August 14 ONLY!)
Preschool/Children Activity: 10am –3pm (Children’s Museum-June 19, Norfolk Zoo-July 31, Pool Party, Smithfield Swim Club-August 14)
- Parents/Adults will help chaperone the children’s activity.
- Preschoolers are welcome to attend the “Activity” accompanied by their parents or an adult.
- Preschool/Children attending the activity need to bring a bag lunch!
- Cost of preschool/children’s activity: TBD.
Day Camp 2014
July 7-11, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm Daily
The camp will be held in one location for one week, and another location for the second week.
Daily schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
July 7 – 11 at Smithfield Baptist Church, 100 Wainwright Dr., Smithfield, VA
July 14 – 18 at Carrollton Baptist Church, 14007 Carrollton Blvd., Carrollton, VA
Children in Kindergarten (5 year olds who have attended pre-school may be allowed) through Grade 6 (just completed) can register for Day Camp
There will be crafts, music, recreation (including swimming), and lessons on character, manners, history, geography, and life applications from the Bible. Each camper will receive a theme T-shirt! Refreshments are provided.
We ask a $30 donation for each camper per week to cover costs, including insurance. We will NOT turn away any camper for lack of funds. Camperships are available to families who need help with funds. Contact 357-4456 Monday-Friday 8 – 5 for more info. After hours, call 357-5218. If there is no answer, keep trying until 10:30 p.m. or leave a message.
Will Transportation Be Provided?
Because of limited space, we encourage you to bring your camper. However, limited transportation is provided. There will be pick up points in the Smithfield area:
Carrollton Baptist Church July 7 – 11
Farmers Bank parking lot July 14 – 18
Jersey Park/Woods Edge Apartments parking lot (both weeks)
What do Campers Need to Bring?
FOOD: Lunch in a bag with the camper’s name on the bag. Do not bring a lunch box — we store all lunches. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
CLOTHES: Everyone needs tennis shoes
GIRLS: Wear a swimsuit under a shirt and shorts. Since this is a church sponsored event, young ladies are asked wear an appropriate one piece suit, or a “swim T-shirt or tank top” which provides full coverage of the midriff while at the pool.
BOYS: Wear a swimsuit and a shirt
There are no facilities to change clothes, so please wear your swim suits to camp as directed.
Space is limited to 120 Day Campers each week. These events are very popular, so sign up early. Your camper’s spot will be held when you pre-register online.
