After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37), Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.” That is the mission of Samaritan’s Purse—to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.

Smithfield Baptist designates certain items to be collected each month. For example, in November, a team packs all the things in a shoebox as gifts sent to Samaritan Purse, who in turn ships them to children around the world as Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts.  These gifts lead to evangelism, discipleship, and the multiplication of believers and churches.

January’s collection item is after Christmas markdowns

SBC Operation Christmas Child is asking for donations of cotton yarn to be used to make washcloths for children.

You can drop these items off outside the church office.  Or, you can donate ONLINE by scrolling down to “My Donation” and selecting “Operation Christmas Child” from the drop-down menu under “Fund.”  If you prefer sending a check, please make payment to “Smithfield Baptist Church” and indicate in the memo section “OCC.”  Mail your check to:
