Smithfield Baptist Traditional Service

Jun 7, 2026    Dr. Patrick Wood

Welcome to Smithfield Baptist Church.

In this Sunday’s message, “Save Me in Thy Lovingkindness” from Psalm 31:1–16, we will see how David’s prayer moves between suffering and thanksgiving, fear and faith, trouble and trust. In the midst of distress, David looks to the Lord as his refuge, rock, and fortress, confidently resting in God’s faithful lovingkindness.

This sermon reminds us that even when life is hard, God remains worthy of our trust. He is our strength in weakness, our peace in uncertainty, and our hope in suffering. Most of all, we are reminded that Jesus Christ is the greatest expression of God’s lovingkindness to His people.
